Hello, guys. How are you? Recently made a small walk around most of parts of Macau GP Guia circuit, was interesting to compare everyday real road to the track we have and can really enhoy in Assetto Corsa racing simulator. Well, i can say, it is really close. #makemacaupopularinsimracing 🙂
There is no comparison after Melco hairpin, so it is 80% completed. As the reference in corners i use this map

So, here we go from the start:
Main straight and turn 1 – Reservoir Bend

Straight from Turn 1 to Mandarin

Turn 3 – Lisboa Corner

Turn 4 to San Francisco Hill

San Franciso Hill Bend

Corner 7

Corner 8

Maternity – Turn 9
Hospital Bridge and Maternity Bend take their names from the site of what is now the Conde S. Januário Hospital.

Teddy Yip – Turn 10
Named after Theodor Yip, driver, team owner at Macau GP and even partially in F1. Macau Gran Prix legend and casino tycoon.

Turn 11 to 14 – Solitude esses. In correct order

Then ahead is Paioi Turn #14. You can not go there on foot, so here is video of ride from the car from here to Turn 18 via “Police corner”and “Moorish Hill” straight.
Moorish Hill is named after the community of Moors which once resided in this part of Macao. All that remains today is the Islamic Mosque and Cemetery.
Dona Maria II – Turn 19.
Turn is coalled so beacuse small statue placed inside the walking area, you can see it from the picture.
Donna Maria Bend is named after one of Macao’s seven hills which itself was named for one of Portugal’s 19th Century Queens. She was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in 1819, and her charitable nature won her the affection of the Portuguese-speaking world which named her ‘Maria, á Boa Mãe’ (‘Maria, the Good Mother’).

Small straight after Dona Maira II to Melco hairpin

View from this road

Melco Hairpin – Turn 20.
Probably the slowest turn in the world. And defenetely requires lot of skills to make it correct and fast.
The Melco Hairpin is located where the former Macau Electric Company (abbreviated to “Melco”) was housed. The original building was demolished making way for today’s CEM (Companhia de Electricidade de Macau) building.
“It is an incredibly tight downhill 180degree hairpin which, if you enter too quickly, can strand you on the outside left hand wall. Cars have been known to “back and fill” to get around. I approach it downhill at around 170kmh in either category of car using either third or fourth gear and brake earlier in the GT. Both cars will apex in first gear.” – Felix Rosenqvist.

So. that is all for today. I hope you have enjiyed it and feel inspirated to feel the beauty of this track in Assetto Corsa, for example. For AC, i wou recommend to use this viersion by Reboot Team. Also you can race the track in older Sim, such as WTCC The Game and GTR Evolution. Both are still awesome, and have even much better Ai then Assetto Corsa. ..oh wait, there is also RaceRoom which has Macau track, since it’s a child of GTR Evo sim.
Stay on the wave!
